Welcome to all our continuing, returning and new River Detectives schools across the state!
As you may know, the program is offered in five Victorian regions. We had a total of 104 schools, organisations and youth groups apply to be part of this year’s program – a great response!
2024 school registrations are being considered by each region and if you haven’t already had your acceptance confirmed, you will very soon.
We are welcoming three new regional River Detectives coordinators (North East CMA, Corangamite CMA and Melbourne Water) this year with several positions still being confirmed which may explain any hold ups you are experiencing.
What’s next ?
- Expect a welcome email from your regional coordinator with the next steps
- Expect an automated email from ‘River Detectives Team’ (if you are new with us or returning after some time) with your login details – a username and a temporary password you can personalise. There is one set of login details provided for each group so please make a note of them and share with other staff who may need full access to the website www.riverdetectives.net.au
Lines of communication: Your regional coordinator is your go-to support person and will be the person contacting you 90% of the time:
North Central CMA: Nicole Howie
Corangamite CMA: Rebecca McCristal
Wimmera CMA: Jeanie Clark
North East CMA: Hannah Harbourd (in an acting capacity until recruitment is finalised)
Melbourne Water: Marita Tripp (in an acting capacity until recruitment is finalised)
Billabong Banter blog: From time to time you will receive email notifications from ‘River Detectives Team’ about a new blog post (like this one). We keep these to a minimum to communicate important statewide updates, planning/resource suggestions and training/grant opportunities. These come to you from me (Nicole Howie) in my statewide coordinator capacity.
You can comment on these blog posts.
The blog also presents an opportunity for River Detectives schools to reach out to others and share what they’re doing but the tech is a bit clunky at present. We will be working on this in 2024 to streamline the process.
