Hi River Detectives schools!
I hope most of you will have by now received a parcel with your NEW field manual – find it electronically on the Let’s test and record page.
Also in your parcel would have been the Saltwatch week poster (digital version). With the poster we included information about how to participate in the state Snapshot monitoring! It is simple (use your login on sheet) and get a range of water samples from nearby (students can collect from their dam, local creek etc. – just know where it came from to log the results). If you need another copy of this please email riverdetectives@nccma.vic.gov.au.
If you do head out for Saltwatch Week we ask that you please let us know, and send in a photo or two! A good video, activities in the teacher activity booklet (Dive Deeper page – page 23 and 26) and a booklet of activities all about salt will help get you thinking salty in the classroom.
Reminder: Virtual learning sessions listed on the What’s happening page with more details and links to register, learn more about….
Turtles on Monday 21 May 11.30am
Platypus on Tuesday 5 June 11.30am (with an extra challenge to create a poster with a prize up for grabs!)
(Apologies for the multiple emails about them last week – mine were going to my junk so thought it was not working, I hope yours were not!).
And lastly tips on entering data on the website can be found here!
