We hope many of you are heading out to find out what is happening in terms of SALT in our catchments and report it as part of our snapshot monitoring across the state (which happens each year!). We encourage you to test a variety of water samples this week and record your results into the Waterwatch database. Each region will have received a hard copy of instructions and login details (please contact riverdetectives@nccma.vic.gov.au if you have not got this!).
Also we would love you to send in your photos from your time out testing – please if you do include permission if we can see faces (we can provide you with a form if you need).
Don’t forget there is a good video called fresh and salty as an introduction activity, and there are ideas for activities in the teacher booklet (Dive Deeper page – page 23 and 26) and a booklet of activities all about salt will help get you thinking salty in the classroom.
