This October, make a big difference for Victoria’s frogs with a small action.
Download the Frog Census app to support vital research by recording frog calls in your local area. Frog Month Victoria focuses on the Growling Grass Frog in October and tracks the spread of the Eastern Dwarf Sedge Frog across the state, which has migrated down from NSW and QLD.
The program is calling all frog and nature enthusiasts: kids, teens, adults, Landcare and environment groups, anyone who has an interest in our frog species to be involved. Frog Census provides faster access to raw data, which will be used by Catchment Management Authorities and researchers for timely environmental actions.
A webinar on 24 September will introduce the frog species in focus, and explain how to record frog calls using the Frog Census App. Those interested in participating can sign up for the webinar here
Participating in Frogtober is a great way to value add to your River Detectives learning (and address biodiversity actions if you’re a RSS school).
