Coliban Water along with the North Central CMA, Djaara and the City of Greater Bendigo are offering a celebration of National Water Week Saturday 21st October at the Bendigo Library. There is something for everyone!
What’s happening on the day?
- A Welcome to Country from Djaara Traditional Owner, Jason Kerr at 10.00am
- A Wonderful Water story time at 10.30am. Kids can meet the Coliban Water mascot, Tap, and learn all about water through stories, songs and demonstrations.
- Find out how to be a River Detective or a WaterWatcher with the North Central Catchment Management Authority (NCCMA).
- Learn about what gatjin (water) means to the Dja Dja Wurrung, who have cared for djandak over many thousands of years.
- Play the BIG Coliban Water Fountains and Drains boardgame outside.
- Learn about the Bendigo Creek Project with CoGB Environment staff.
- Plus heaps of giveaways and other water inspired activities.
We’d love to see you there! Please promote this event to your families via your school newsletter if you are near Bendigo and feel it is appropriate.
This is also an opportunity to ‘come and try’ River Detectives before signing up for 2024 so please recommend the event to colleagues of other schools who have expressed an interest in our program but are not sure what it entails.
